Brian Powell joined the firm in 2011, to continue a career in the legal field after gaining extensive trial experience in Chicago, Boston and Kansas City.  His casework experience includes antitrust, bankruptcy, insurance, contract and copyright law, white-collar crime investigations, and class action lawsuits.  Prior to joining the firm, he worked at a local firm specializing in computer forensics and litigation support.

Mr. Powell completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and minor in Philosophy.  He continued with graduate studies at the Harvard University Extension School with a focus on Civil Rights Law and Judicial Review.  Achievements include Dean’s List at Loyola University and Harvard University Extension School, Co-Founder of Loyola University Chicago Men’s Rugby Club, Citizenship instructor at Centro Romero in Chicago, and volunteer at Horizons Initiative for Homeless Children in Boston.

Mr. Powell is active in the community as a Commissioner for the Kansas City Ethnic Enrichment Commission, as a leader and long-time member of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, and as an officer and board member for various local cultural groups within the area.
