Mr. Hodes specializes in complex and class action litigation and represents plaintiffs and defendants in litigation in state and federal courts nationwide. His cases primarily include commercial and business litigation, consumer protection and predatory lending, insurance, securities, tort and contract matters. Mr. Hodes’ experience also extends to products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, tobacco, asbestos, antitrust, employment, consumer protection, and environmental and toxic tort litigation in municipal, state, appellate, and federal courts nationwide. Mr. Hodes also represents individuals in family and domestic matters, collections, employment, personal injury and municipal/criminal matters.
During his legal career, Mr. Hodes has been involved in numerous cases of substantial magnitude and complexity. Mr. Hodes has also worked on numerous other putative class actions and complex matters, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in various stages of litigation. Through these cases, Mr. Hodes has worked with and against some of the top litigation firms nationwide.
Mr. Hodes has also lectured at, moderated, and provided written materials for Continuing Legal Education Seminars on class actions and complex litigation. He has had several publications including Ex Parte Contacts with Organizational Employees in Missouri, 54 Journal of the Missouri Bar 83 (1998) and Terrorist Threats: The Friendly Skies Aren't Too Friendly About Notification 46 University of Kansas Law Review 365 (1998).
Mr. Hodes has represented plaintiffs and defendants individually and as an associate with other attorneys in matters favorably resolved by way of settlement or dismissal. Such matters include the class actions listed above and others as well as in individual matters involving personal injuries, clergy fraud, insurance agent fraud, and other contract and tort claims.
